Screen Saviour

lyrics

Look into the sky as it all goes away,
watching as the screen fades to black,
plugging in your brain, an unrecognised device,
I'm your screen saviour.

This machine's becoming redundant.
This mechanical mind.
this partition, can't make a decision,
without a driver inside.

This device, I call it my body.
This upgrade, I call it insight.
Technology, I long to evolve me,
a clockwork heart beating harder inside.

Look without your eyes see the world through a camera lens,
rapture in your technical glee.
you don't need to fear a new world bathed in acid rain,
nature bows to technology.

the smallest price to pay, sell your meat for a metal shell,
back up your brain on magnetic tape,
death becomes a myth as a legacy device,
my steel shell will outlive you all.

Synthetic carbon, that gleams in the sunlight,
circuits and pistons to augment myself.
drop forge my system and make me less human,
no more disease, a firewall to my health.

and maybe so, I'll be something diabolic,
it may be true that I won't be myself,
but I'd become a cybernetic chimera,
that final cut as the last thing I felt.
